The Australian Tennis Open provides the background for two international commercial spots for prestige watch manufacturer
Rolex.
The spots shot over the two week period of the grand slam event by Marty will include vision of the three current Rolex ambassadors, Roger Federer, Justine Henin and Andy Roddick.
The spots were produced by Alastair Hallett from IMG World, and directed by Kevin McTiernan.
Kevin was interested in showing off the Australian Open as an event, and capturing the relaxed nature of the environment, something that will contrast with Rolex's similar spots from Wimbledon. He was also keen to capture the athlete's and their moments of intensity.
The spots, shot on Panasonic Varicam at 50fps, and the Phantom V10 high speed camera will be ready for the Australian Open in 2009.
